Red is the sun in a mournful sky
The colours of the day fade to grey
Deadly thoughts hide behind a peaceful dawn
Nothing to hear than the waves’ up and down
Red is your blood that seeps into the sand
A dead bird is lying next to your hand
You’re lying here, your body’s still and cold
Your face looks asleep but turned grey and old
I’m sitting by the water to be close to your soul
Red is the sun in your lifeless hair
Your life always seemed to be unfair
Ran through it, groundless, in your hand a sword
Loving you was painful but much too short
Red are your feet, bloody after long run
As usual you left your things undone
Thought you were happy, on your way to me
When you gave up and fell down by the sea
I’m walking next to the water to search for your soul
Red is the sun, dark and heavy the waves
Unable to hate we were our love’s slaves
Choked by the words I wanted to tell you
My yearning hurts, I feel I’m dying, too
Red drowns the sun in the grey, darken sea
Your eyes are wide open but they can’t see
Wish I could touch your heart, feel your spirit
But the sea has taken your soul with it
I’m running into the water to drown in your soul
